This weekend, I was back in my hometown and drove around listening to the radio station I loved growing up. There’s something so beautifully naive about the radio—not knowing what song will come on next, not being able to look it up (pre-Shazam days), just vibing and enjoying whatever comes your way. I found myself driving to a friend’s old house completely by memory, belting along to “You Found Me” by The Fray, and feeling that feeling of “home” so viscerally, it was like I was coming home to myself, too.

hola amigos,

greetings from bogotá! i am in colombia for two weeks in an intense summer school with the coolest people doing the most world changing research. i am feeling inspired, overwhelmed, a bit out of my depth, and at the moment, mostly exhausted.

this experience is fiercely epistemological. i have been here for two days and i have already learned a ton – i’m trying to be a sponge (and spot talent!). i’ve now had perspective shifts and value reframes from learning further about belief dynamics, agent based modeling, algorithms in disciplines across the board, statistical physics in social science analysis, and some insane discussion on power laws.

it’s also fall / rainy weather here so the vibes are absolutely immaculate. i am just so glad to be out of new york city humidity for a couple of weeks.
